And if now is tomorrow, we should celebrate today, right? Yes, I often pick lesser known songs as my blog post titles and some of them might make you think "huh?". But, if you take the time to read the lyrics and maybe listen to the song itself, you just might go "huuuhhh..." instead.

Well, I celebrated today by dreaming about tomorrow in ruins from yesterday. Simply Shelby has a fabulous landscaping ruin that is so customizable. (SS participates in several promotional price groups - like 25L Tuesday and 1L 1Hour.) You can pull pieces out, move them around, unlink and relink, resize - did I say it was fabulous? There are also several single and couple (PG) poses to play with. I used this piece in my previous blog, but it's so versatile that I had to again!

Through my Facebook blog page I found this gorgeous capri outfit from Xtravagance for only 99L on the Marketplace - with an extensive color changing HUD for both pieces! I paired it my friend, Zonia Belic's lovely earrings, a Maxi Gossamer necklace and my KC Couture's Darcy heels. 2017 was a year of change for my family and upheaval for the world. If tomorrow is indeed now, I'm looking for 2018 to be a year of serenity for my family and am praying it's the start of unheralded unity and peace for the world.

Sittin' In The Sun

Well, like Satchmo sang, "what I own is not a large amount", but I'm going to sit in the sun and be happy with my lot. And why wouldn't I? I didn't need much for this fabulous outfit from Apple May Designs and the gorgeous high heeled sandals from KC Couture. Blue Moon

January 2018 we will have 2 full moons, making the second full moon at the end of the month a true Blue Moon. But in Second Life you don't have to wait like we do in real life! City By the Bay

All I want to do is stare out at the fog rolling across the bay and over the city beyond. I actually did live in the San Francisco area once. I would never have been able to afford this particular location, but I can pretend in Second Life that my home is perched above the Marin coastline overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and the beautiful City By the Bay. It's no wonder I am having a hard time concentrating on my blog writing today! Still this awesome group gift by Entice is worth the effort! Melting in the Dark

The weather continues to be cold and gloomy (and even dangerous - praying for California) which means a little cabin fever can set in. When I get bored I like to be .... a little different. As if being a White Elf isn't different enough, that is. Ha! Today I'm going gothic Lolita with a cute, simple look. I enjoy shopping the Marketplace for Gacha resales and fell on the dainty little dress I'm wearing for surprisingly cheap considering it's a Rare. You have to be careful when buying resale Gachas. There are a lot of copybots out there and the old adage of "if it's too good to be true" holds true in SL as well as RL. Reviews on Gachas on the MP are pretty much useless since they are resale and the seller isn't the creator. Still, I've bought enough that I could open a Gacha resale store of my own! LOL. Can you tell I'm ready for warmer weather already? LOL! However, until Spring finally arrives we have great weekly events like Fifty Linden Friday (FLF) to help wile away the time. For the uninitiated (as I was a few months ago), FLF is a weekly event where a rotating list of sellers offer new, current or custom items for $50L. As a member of the group you get a notecard at midnight SLT every Friday morning with that week's list of sellers. You can also see photos of the items offered on Seraphim's website and participate in the group chat. There's usually close to 2 dozen sellers each week with items that vary from clothing to furniture to landscaping and everything in between. There are times when I find myself buying almost everything on the list and other times when there are just a few items that interest my pocketbook. But it's always fun and always a surprise and all the effort the sellers put into providing these discounted items is so appreciated!

Yesterday's FLF was the first one of 2018 and I was excited by several of the offerings. That's one of the benefits of FLF, you get to decide if you want the item or not and often have demos to try first! In the first photo I have a mix of FLF items and non-items (mostly to complete the "set look"). We start off in Photo (1) with the LISP - Heritage Panel Set 2 (Artemis). There were two sets available, but I only needed the shades that came in Set 2. What a great way to frame out a room! Then there is the adorable plant stand from Anhelo that I couldn't say no to. The rain boots are from fri.day and are unrigged so you can fit them to your feet (although there is a warming about fitting to mesh feet other than Maitreya). There was also a lovely pair of high heels with attached legwarmers in charcoal. I'm wearing a couple of items from FLF also. The high-waist leggings are from Lazybones (a matching crop top was available, as well) and the amazingly cute boat shoes are from Reign with flat, tippy toe, sloppy and stepped on versions along with Reign's fantastic color HUD. I got a few more items, but wanted to be sure to share the precious Babydoll Slip-On dress from NYU - Photo (2). It's a two piece outfit so you can wear them as separates and really makes me want it to be warmer! But the Over-The-Wrist Tee makes it comfy in the cold. The Weather Outside is Frightful!

It seems that pretty much the entire country has gotten or is experiencing some really awful weather or natural disaster lately. Here in the South we have single digit  temperatures with dangerous wind chills. I bought a couple new Akeruka heads during the Black Friday sale, so I decided it was a good day to change up my look a bit, throw on some comfy clothing, sit by the fire and just relax for a while. Only thing missing is some hot chocolate.... Ummm. I'll be back in a few minutes.

Putting on the Ritz

It was a hard fought battle of hours, but I eventually made it into the Truth Hair VIP Holiday Party Saturday - only to crash to desktop twice in mere minutes.... Oh well, at least I got a few photos! And we had access to the live stream of music, DJs and entertainers through that night. Many thanks to Truth Hawk and his moderators, Amber Daze and LadyEllenT, for putting together a fantastic end to 2017! The champagne flowed (or at least pixeled), the music had the VIPers on their feet all night and the entertainers were engaging and ... entertaining!

While waiting to gain entrance to the party I decided on a little photo op to show off my dance outfit so at least someone would get to see it! =)

For Nau Lang Syne

Okay, so I switched up the song a bit, but since returning to Second Life I've made more new friends than I've found old ones. One such new friend is the lovely, sweet and oh so talented LadyEllenT Resident. a relatively new SL member in comparison to my own (albeit interrupted absence) antiquity who knows more about our favorite time-waster than I've forgotten! She blogs for several retail stores in SL and is also an expert bargain shopper. She invited me over to "collab" on a photo shoot and I eagerly agreed! So I donned my newest favorite gown and we welcomed in the New Year in style! A little Dom Pérignon made the evening sparkle even more!

I'm still learning the ropes of this blogging business so it might be a while before I can return the favor, but I am certainly looking forward to future collaborations!

Coming Down the Chimney Today

I don't know about y'all, but I plan on staying up to see O' Saint Nick arriving with his pack of gifts. I've staked out my place right in front of the roaring fire. I guess I should douse it before the old guy singes his footsies, huh?

Actually, I've found a sackful of great gifts and discounts all month long thanks to the awesome Second Life sellers who provided Advent Calendars and discounts and all of those wonderful sales events and hunts where there were plenty of gifts to be found! I'm stocked up on enough Christmas and winter decor and clothing to make my 2018 holiday season full and bright. And I appreciate the sellers who made non-holiday items available so I'll have a packed closet to choose from throughout the New Year!

In real life I live in the Southern USA and we were hit with an unprecedented 13 inches of snow over the weekend, lost power and had to navigate roads strewn with fallen pine trees to get to the store to find logs for our fireplace. All I wanted to do was cuddle up with pillows and blankets and use my iPad (only it ran out of power....). So when I was finally able to get into Second Life yesterday evening (while my RL tablet charged up), that's just what I did with my SL cellphone - and in my human persona! I came across a shop called ~EccentriciXi~ where I bought an outfit I love so much that I turned around and left a glowing review on the Marketplace. One of the owners was so thrilled I left the review that they sent me heels to go with it - so I decided to include them in a blog.  One of the things I really appreciate is that this outfit is actually 2 separate pieces, not fused together like a lot of them out there.  I like to mix and match things, so this gives me so many options!

I also went back this morning and picked up a couple more items (they have a 60L section, btw) grabbed the WS Hunt goody and some demos.

Hi, I'm Fionne Burleigh, your new roving reporter for SL Style & More! LOL! Actually, this is my first attempt at blogging for Second Life and Kai was considerate enough to risk.... er, invite me to post on his blog and give a bit of a female perspective.  I joined Second Life back in 2005 but left in 2009 - back when sculpties and mega prims were innovative! 😶 I recently returned and let me tell you - it's been eye opening! Still, I'm having fun, making new friends and learning, relearning and unlearning the SL ropes. I tend to look for bargains and ways to help new residents. I'm a member of 1 Linden 1 Hour, 25L Tuesday and Fifty Linden Friday as well as several of the best gift giving groups in SL! We have some awesome and generous creators whose talent blows me away!
